Free ADU & Home Plans Now Available in Los Angeles

After the January 2025 wildfires, many families across Los Angeles and California are facing the long road of rebuilding. The Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety (LADBS) has taken an important step to support homeowners by releasing a collection of pre-approved residential plans to help speed up recovery.

Through the Single-Family Home Standard Plans Pilot Program, LADBS is now offering:

  • 81 pre-approved ADU (Accessory Dwelling Unit) plans

  • 11 pre-approved Single-Family Dwelling (SFD) plans

These plans are designed to reduce design time, simplify permitting, and help homeowners start rebuilding faster and more affordably. All drawings are professionally prepared and ready for use under the program guidelines.

Homeowners, designers, and builders can access all plans with a single click as a downloadable ZIP file from the official LADBS page:

This resource is especially valuable for those rebuilding after fire damage, as well as anyone in Los Angeles considering an ADU or new single-family home. Using pre-approved plans can significantly shorten approval timelines and reduce overall project costs.

At Fine Craftsmanship Inc., we support resilient design and smart rebuilding strategies. If you’re planning to rebuild, expand, or explore ADU options, leveraging approved plans is one of the most efficient ways to move forward with confidence.

Rebuilding is not just about structures. It’s about restoring homes, stability, and communities.
